what does the svta do?
Our mission is all about promoting the sport of tennis in the valley, but there is a more practical concern - we need somewhere to play. SVTA maintains the tennis courts at Maxwell Farms Regional Park in an agreement with Sonoma County Parks who own the facility. Your dues directly support the existence of our tennis facility. Without member dues, it wouldn't be there. Court resurfacing is our biggest on-going expense, but we also manage cleaning, benches, nets, equipment storage and the general upkeep of the facility.
In addition to making sure we have a great tennis facility for everyone to enjoy, we also contract with our tennis pro, Felipe Monroy to provide lessons, programs and junior tennis opportunities in Sonoma. SVTA also sponsors USTA men and women's leagues, and Sonoma-Napa-Marin Women's league play so if you're a competitive player, membership allows your participation in those leagues.
Last, but not least, we apply for the grants that help fund both facilities and programs. Each year we work with organizations like the Olympic Club and the USTA to supplement membership dues and keep tennis accessible to everyone.
Join today and help support tennis in Sonoma and get involved in all we have to offer.
Annual dues for 2019 are $100 per person. There is also a $125 family rate and a $50 membership for out of area players.
Dues are payable by January 31 of each year and you can pay online using the PayPal link below. Alternatively, you can download and print the invoice/membership form, and mail with your check to the PO Box in El Verano indicated on the form.
If you have any membership questions please email Erin Collins.
